Blake Lively has turned heads with her stunning appearances at Met Gala over the years. Ryan Reynolds also often joins the actress for the fashion’s biggest night. However, Blake and Ryan are reported to have skipped the 2025 Met Gala leaving fans disappointed.
A source told US Weekly that it's no surprise that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds won't be attending the Met Gala this year. The source added, “She’s not a Kardashian that goes every year.”
Lively’s latest decision came amid the ongoing $400 million countersuit filed by Justin Baldoni. There were speculations that the lawsuit was the reason that the couple was skipping the Met Gala.
However, TMZ has that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds decided not to attend the Met Gala before news of Lively's legal issues with Justin Baldoni broke. Sources close to the couple say their absence has nothing to do with Lively's ongoing lawsuit with the director and co-star of It Ends With Us, stating, "made the call long before any of that unfolded."
The beloved couple, known for their iconic Met Gala appearances, will miss the 2025 event, making it their third year in a row. The couple last attended in 2022, when they co-chaired with Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda, marking Lively's 10th Met Gala appearance.

For the unaware, Met Gala 2025 will be held at t the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City to raise funds for the Costume Institute on May 5. This year’s theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, will honour the Costume Institute's exhibition of the same name.
