Anupam Kher meets Robert De Niro at Cannes

Bollywood actor Anupam Kher is currently in France for the Cannes Film Festival, where he got a chance to meet the ‘godfather of acting’ and his friend, Robert De Niro. The actor revealed that De Niro also met the cast of Tanvi: The Great.

Anupam Kher took to his Instagram and shared a video with Robert De Niro. In the video, Anupam expressed his excitement about meeting De Niro after a long time and said, “So happy to meet after a long time. I am blessed to have a friend like him. I am blessed to have somebody in my life.”

He added, “We don’t meet, but there are certain relationships like a pause button on a tape recorder, you just have to start from there…” Anupam Kher and Robert De Niro also shared a hug in the video, showing their close friendship.

The actor then congratulated Robert De Niro for receiving the honorary Palme d'Or for lifetime achievement at Cannes 2025. He added, “Congratulated him for getting the most prestigious award Palme d’Or award at the opening of #CannesFilmFestival.”

Anupam then shared that he told De Niro about the screening of his second directorial film, Tanvi: The Great and wrote, “Told him about the #WorldPremiere of #TanviTheGreat in Cannes! He met #Shubhangi (Tavi) and our other crew members very warmly! Showed him the first poster (to be released tomorrow) of our film! He LOVED it.”

He concluded his caption and penned, “Thank you dearest Mr. De Niro for your love, warmth, that wonderful hug, the delicious lunch and your infectious BRILLIANCE over the years! Having you as a friend is the biggest blessing I could have ever asked for! Also a big THANK YOU to dearest #Tiffany for your hospitality and generosity! And for shooting this video!
