The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the 2024 International Emmy Awards on September 19. Among the prestigious nominations, the Indian series The Night Manager secured a spot in the Best Drama Series category.
This marks a significant achievement for the show, which stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Anil Kapoor, and Sobhita Dhulipala. The series will be competing against Les Gouttes de Dieu (Drops of God) from France, The Newsreader Season 2 from Australia, and Iosi, El Espia Arrepentido Season 2 from Argentina for the award.
In an interview with NDTV, Anil Kapoor, who portrays Shailendra "Shelly" Rungta in the show revealed he was elated and shared his excitement in a video message. Anil Kapoor said, "That's a fantastic news. I just couldn't believe it."
He continued. "I called Sandeep (director) and the entire team. We were messaging each other. The entire team is thrilled and excited."
The Night Manager is an Indian adaptation of the 2016 British series of the same name, which in turn is based on John le Carré's novel. This Indian version was helmed by Sandeep Modi and features a gripping plot centered on a night manager who becomes embroiled in the dangerous world of arms dealing, love, and betrayal. The series also stars Tillotama Shome, Ravi Behl, and Saswata Chatterjee in key roles, adding depth to the high-stakes drama.
Produced by Banijay Asia and The Ink Factory, the show has been lauded for its strong performances and tense storyline. The second season is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, further expanding the intricate narrative.

The International Emmy Awards will be held in New York City on November 25, 2024, where the winners will be announced in a gala ceremony.
