Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan paid homage to the Indian army and shared his pride in India's impressive economic development on social media on Monday.

The seasoned actor, who is renowned for his well-considered and organised posts, praised India's ascent to the position of the world's fourth-largest economy in a series of updates on X (formerly Twitter).

In his first post, Bachchan highlighted India’s growing influence on the global stage, writing, "T 5390(ii) - ! India 4th largest economy in the World.. USA, China, Germany, India.. and 2.5 - 3 yrs will become 3rd largest.. United States: With a GDP of $30.51 trillion. China: With a GDP of $19.23 trillion. Germany: With a GDP of $4.74 trillion. India : approx $ 4 trillion."

The post swiftly gained traction online, with fans applauding the actor’s nationalistic spirit and pride in India’s economic ascent.

Shortly after, the 82-year-old star posted a heartfelt tribute to India’s armed forces. Alongside an image of Indian soldiers, he wrote in Hindi, "T 5390 (iii) Agniveer Zindabad!! Jai Bharat Mata Ki !! Jai Hind (sic)," accompanied by the Indian tricolour emoji.

For the unknown, the term "Agniveer" refers to the newly introduced cadre of young recruits in the Indian Army, part of the Agnipath scheme.

Adding a poetic note to the day’s reflections, Bachchan also quoted a poignant verse from his late father, the legendary poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. In Hindi, he shared: "[T 5390 (i) - 'Who does he blame, And to whom should I tell my sorrow, When soil does injustice to soil' ~ Harivanshrai Bachchan." The emotional lines resonated with many of his followers.

Amitabh Bachchan recently spoke about India's Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan and the PoK. He had previously posted evasive and confusing updates, but on May 11, he made a lengthy statement strongly denouncing the terror attack in Pahalgam.
