Actor and TVK head, Thalapathy Vijay was recently seen at Madurai airport returning from a Kodaikanal shoot. Amid heavy fan frenzy, a bodyguard intervened when one fan got too close.

At Madurai airport, chaos erupted when a fan got too close to Thalapathy Vijay, prompting his bodyguard to draw a gun, an act that stunned the internet.

Videos of the intense moment have since gone viral, showing Vijay stepping out of his car to loud cheers from an eager crowd of fans.

In the middle of the chaos, a fan with a shawl tried to approach Vijay by breaking through the security barrier. As the team restrained the fan, a bodyguard's gun was briefly spotted aimed at him amid the confusion. Unfazed, Vijay walked calmly inside, seemingly oblivious to the disturbance.

While speaking about the same with News18, the fan, on whom the gun was pulled, said, “I didn’t know the gun was there; the bouncers did it for security reasons. I don't think they did anything wrong.”

Netizens had mixed reactions to the entire incident. One user wrote, "#ThalapathyVijay’s bodyguard pulls out a gun and kind of points it at a fan who breached security in Madurai. What is wrong with the security guy? If he accidentally fired it, then someone could have lost their life. Have never seen such an incident with any celeb security in India including." While another comment read, "Vijay's security guard pointing gùñ at a fan. Worst." A user also wrote, "This is scary. Actor vijays bouncers using Pistol against public in public place.”

While several netizens spoke in favour of the bodyguard's action. One user said, "Thalapathy Vijay’s security officer was responsibly handing over a firearm to a colleague at the airport when a cadre’s reckless interference caused a brief mishap. No one was targeted." While another post pointed out, "Why did the guard pull out his gun? Simple. Guns aren’t allowed inside the terminal. He was handing it over to another officer before entering. Standard protocol."

On the work front, Vijay will be next seen in his last film before he enters into politics, Jana Nayagan set to release in 2026.
