Aaishvary Thackeray to debut in Anurag Kashyap's upcoming film Nishaanchi releasing in September 2025

The film is especially noteworthy as it marks the impactful acting debut of Aaishvary Thackeray.

Aaishvary Thackeray,the grandson of late Balasaheb Thackeray, is set to debut in Bollywood with Anurag Kashyap directorial, Nishaanchi. The makers announced the film along with an animated motion video.

Amazon MGM Studios recently took to Instagram to announce that their upcoming theatrical release, Nishaanchi, will hit the big screens on September 19. The film is especially noteworthy as it marks the impactful acting debut of Aaishvary Thackeray.

The caption read, "Lights Camera Action. Yeh fillam dekhne ke liye taiyyar ho jao. #Nishaanchi, releasing at a theatre near you, September 19."

Nishaanchi, which is envisioned as a full-fledged cinematic extravaganza, is expected to provide an engrossing story that delves into the complex lives of two brothers who end up on radically different paths. As the narrative progresses, it emphasises how each character's decisions shape their own destinies, providing viewers with a rich and complex experience.

Talking about his experience of making the film, Anurag Kashyap said, “We wrote Nishaanchi in 2016. Since then, I have been looking to make this film the way it should be, and was looking for a studio who trusted me to do that, whole heartedly. Amazon MGM loved it, believed in it, and became the wall behind us. This is exactly what happened with all my films that people love - they were backed by great producers and great Studios. Nishaanchi is a story full of raw human emotions, love, lust, power, crime and punishment, betrayal, redemption and the consequences of it all."

He further added, "I have been extremely fortunate to find a bunch of good people and superb actors and my most beautiful crew to tell this story in the best possible way that I would have wanted. Working with the team at Amazon MGM Studios has been an immensely rewarding and beautiful experience. It was like going back to my early days of filmmaking. We’re excited, nervous, and can’t wait to share the film with the audience to experience, when it releases in theatres this September!"

Aaishvary stars alongside Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Kumud Mishra in pivotal roles.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, this raw and gritty theatrical crime drama is produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under the banner of Jar Pictures in association with Flip Films.
