Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita Kejriwal has been in the news ever since the dramatic arrest of the Aam Aadmi Party chief in the liquor policy case.
Sunita, who is not often seen making public speeches, has sent out two video messages from Arvind Kejriwal's official X handle so far, communicating on behalf of the jailed AAP chief.
In her recent hard-hitting message, Sunita said that her husband will reveal the details of the "money trail" in the so-called liquor policy case during the next court hearing.
The sudden spotlight on Sunita Kejriwal has also sparked rumours that she may become one of the frontrunners to replace Arvind Kejriwal in case he quits as the Delhi chief minister.
Who is Sunita Kejriwal?
Sunita Kejriwal is a 1994-batch Indian Revenue Services (IRS) officer who has served in the Income Tax (I-T) department for 22 years.
Sunita also holds a Master's degree in Zoology.
She met her husband Arvind during a training programme in Bhopal. Arvind is a 1995-batch IRS officer.
She took voluntary retirement from the I-T department in 2016. Before that, she was serving as commissioner of I-T in the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) in New Delhi.
Sunita has been seen accompanying Kejriwal during the India Against Corruption movement led by Anna Hazare, which led to the formation of AAP. She also took a long leave from office when Kejriwal contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
