In West Bengal, voting for the 42 Lok Sabha seats will take place across all seven phases.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress  on April 17 released its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

Titled "Didir Shopoth" (Didi's promise), the manifesto was released in five languages including the Santal language and Nepalese.

The promises announced included party convener Banerjee's assurance that there will be no Citizenship (Amendment) Act, National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Bengal. According to the party, the promises will be fulfilled once the Trinamool forms the government in the Centre as part of the INDIA bloc.

"With #DidirShopoth, we pledge to uplift every Indian with guaranteed employment, universal housing, free LPG cylinders, assured MSP for farmers, scholarships for SC, ST, OBC students and much more. Together, let's overthrow the BJP Zamindars and pave the way for a dignified life for all," Trinamool posted on the social media platform X.

Here are the key highlights of the Trinamool poll manifesto.

• Guarantee of 100-day work for job card holders with a daily wage of Rs 400

• Free housing for all poor families

• Free 10 gas cylinders to BPL families per year

• Ration at doorstep

• Implementation of Swaminathan Commission recommendations

• All graduates and diploma holders up to 25 years will be provided 1-year apprenticeships with monthly stipend

• Welfare schemes such as Kanyashree for girls across India

• CAA will be withdrawn, NRC will be stopped. There will be no Uniform Civil Code in the country

• Student credit cards of up to Rs 10 lakh will be provided to students pursuing higher education

Releasing the manifesto, Derek O'Brien said, "This is what we will do when the TMC, as part of INDIA bloc, forms the government."

Earlier on April 17 at an election rally, the CM alleged that the BJP has made the entire country a "detention camp" and promised that the CAA and NRC will be scrapped if opposition bloc INDIA forms government at the Centre.
