2024 Lok Sabha Election in Haryana.

Haryana has experienced a dynamic political landscape with several changes in leadership and party dominance. The state has primarily been governed by two major parties: the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC). The first chief minister of Haryana was Bhagwat Dayal Sharma from the Congress. The early years of Haryana's formation saw frequent changes in leadership.

In the late 1990s, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) emerged as a significant political force in Haryana, with Om Prakash Chautala holding the chief ministerial position several times. His tenure, however, was marked by allegations of corruption and legal challenges. In 2014, the BJP secured a majority in the state assembly elections, marking a significant shift in Haryana's political landscape. Manohar Lal Khattar became the first BJP leader to take on the role of chief minister in the state.

Khattar's leadership has been marked by efforts to improve governance and implement development projects across Haryana. His tenure, however, has faced challenges, including handling farmer protests and addressing issues of law and order. The BJP retained power in the 2019 state assembly elections, albeit with a reduced majority. Khattar was re-elected and formed a coalition government with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) to secure a majority. However, Khattar and his entire Cabinet resigned in March 2024 after a split in alliance between the JJP and the BJP and Nayab Saini of the BJP took oath as the new Chief Minister.
