Agoda Reveals Goa, Dubai & Phu Quoc as Favourite Honeymoon Spots for Indian Couples

As India’s wedding season approaches, newlyweds are seeking more than just a getaway—they are chasing experiences. Data from digital travel platform Agoda reveals that Indian couples are increasingly gravitating towards sun-soaked beaches, serene lakes, and exotic islands for their honeymoon, blending romance with adventure.

Goa continues to hold the crown as India’s most popular honeymoon destination for the second consecutive year, thanks to its golden beaches, boutique resorts, and vibrant culinary scene. Trailing closely is Udaipur, the “City of Lakes,” which has climbed to second place in 2025, attracting couples with its royal charm and tranquil lakeside views. Mumbai, Jaipur, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands round out the top five, with the Andamans emerging as a notable newcomer for couples seeking an island escape closer to home.

On the global front, Dubai continues to be the preferred international destination, luring couples with luxury, desert adventures, and city glamour. Phuket and Bangkok follow closely, while Bali and Pattaya maintain their tropical appeal. However, the standout this year is Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam, which has jumped into the top ten for the first time with an almost eightfold increase in popularity. Its rise underscores the growing appetite of Indian honeymooners for affordable, lesser-explored Southeast Asian destinations.

Commenting on the trends, Gaurav Malik, Country Director, Indian Subcontinent & Indian Ocean Islands at Agoda, said,

“Honeymoons are among the most meaningful trips couples take, and Indian travelers are showing a growing preference for destinations that offer both romance and discovery. From classic getaway destinations like Goa and Bali to rising stars like Phu Quoc, beach and island getaways are winning hearts and setting the stage for a lifetime of happiness for newlyweds.”

Whether it’s watching a sunset on a Goan beach, enjoying a lakeside dinner in Udaipur, or exploring the pristine beauty of Phu Quoc, Agoda’s platform allows couples to craft personalized experiences. With over 6 million holiday properties, more than 130,000 flight routes, and 300,000 activities available, Indian honeymooners can plan their dream trip with just a few clicks.
