Talking to reporters, the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said it is important to recognise and respect that India is more than just one language, one culture or one religion.

The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister also posted photographs showing police vehicles outside the gates of his residence in the Gupkar area of the city here.

Taking to Twitter, the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said, "I don’t know about anyone else but when my turn comes I’ll happily roll up my sleeve & get a COVID vaccine.”

Omar Abdullah accused the Apni Party, led by former PDP leader Altaf Bukhari, and the union territory administration of using coercive tactics to buy loyalties of newly elected DDC members.

The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister was reacting to the alleged house arrest of Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti.

Omar Abdullah took his father, Farooq Abdullah, on a test drive of the recently released Mahindra Thar and complimented group chairman Anand Mahindra on the car. The Thar has been launched after a long developmental cycle and the first car, the Mahindra Thar #1 has been sold at an auction for charity.

He said some senior office-bearers of National Conference had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi only days before the August 5 developments and added that "it is not a meeting I will forget in a hurry"

The Chhattisgarh CM had attempted to justify the Congress conviction that rebel Pilot is working in cahoots with the Bharatiya Janata Party to bring down the Rajasthan government, by questioning if Omar Abdullah and his father were released from detention only because of their family ties

"The extension of lockdown till May 3 isn't something we all wanted but given the threat we face from COVID-19, it's a necessity. Let's do everything we can to cooperate with authorities to avoid a further extension in May," he tweeted after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the extension of nationwide lockdown.

The former chief minister of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir said the new law was so hollow that even politicians with "Delhi's blessings" were forced to criticise it.

"Condolences to you and the entire family, @OmarAbdullah. May his soul rest in peace," Modi tweeted.
