




The CBSE notification directed all affiliated schools to arrange for online, offline or innovative exams on all subjects a student has failed in, and before holding such tests, the respective schools were told to provide sufficient preparation time
"The schools can conduct either online or offline exams for the failed class 9, 11 students. This one time opportunity is being extended only in current year in view of the unprecedented condition of COVID-19," CBSE Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said.
As many as 19 officers have been appointed to the post of secretaries, additional secretaries and joint secretaries among others.
"From the 3,000 schools, these copies will go the evaluators and evaluation will begin tomorrow. Teachers will evaluate from home and we will be able to complete the process in 50 days," HRD Minister Pokhriyal added.
"At the secondary level, a skill subject may be offered as an additional subject along with the existing five compulsory subjects. The board has decided to offer students the flexibility of making a vocational choice of a short duration module of 12 hours at a stage in their early academic career, either at class 6, 7 or 8," Biswajit Saha, CBSE's Director Training and Skill Education, said.
"The exams in the area for class 12 will begin on March 31 and conclude on April 14, while exams for class 10 will begin on March 21 and conclude on March 30," a senior board official said.
'The board is making efforts to contact them to extend help, if any required, so that they can resume their exam schedule at the earliest,' the official said.
The board also announced that it will conduct fresh exams for students who have not been able to appear for the papers in other parts of the national capital due to the violence in northeast Delhi.
The exam has been postponed at 73 centres in northeast Delhi and seven centres in east Delhi.
CBSE will conduct the class XII board examination between February 15 and March 30. For students of class X, the examination will be held between February 15 and March 20.
Moreover, the Telecom Department has sounded out Ministry of Finance about BSNL's plans to issue sovereign guarantee bonds, and these could be floated as early as February, once the requisite approvals come in.
While the exams for class 12 will end on March 30, those for class 10 will end on March 20.
It is the need of the hour keeping in mind country's future, CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi said at the school education summit organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).
The decision was taken by the Delhi government following announcement of fee hike by the Central Board of Secondary Education.
CBSE on August 11 increased the fees of Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations by up to Rs 1,150, the first hike in the last five years.
The students appearing for the Class 10 board exams are registered for it when in Class 9, and those appearing for Class 12 are registered when in Class 11.
Around 13 lakh students appeared for the Class 12 examination
Most parents pointed out that the answers were not marked properly along with unnecessary deductions being made.
The CBSE had come under attack after the economics paper of the Class 12 board exams was leaked in March, affecting lakhs of students, and a re-examination was ordered.
According to the norms, all applications which are received by the board on or before June 30 every year, may be processed together within six months
