You can now play Xbox games on LG Smart TVs with the new Gaming Portal

LG has added the Xbox App to its Smart TVs in India through the new LG Gaming Portal, allowing users to stream and play Xbox Game Pass titles without a console. The feature is rolling out to 2021–2025 LG webOS TVs and brings thousands of cloud games, improved performance, and easy access from the home screen.

LG is making it easier than ever for people in India to play Xbox games, without needing an actual Xbox console. The company has announced that the Xbox App is now available on LG Smart TVs, thanks to the launch of the new LG Gaming Portal.

This new Gaming Portal turns LG Smart TVs into a central hub for cloud gaming. It pulls together titles from different gaming partners and lets users jump straight into thousands of games instantly. You don’t need a console or downloads — just a compatible LG TV, a controller, and fast internet.

As part of the rollout, the Xbox App has officially arrived on LG TVs in India. This means anyone with Xbox Game Pass can stream and play big titles like Forza Horizon 5, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and Raji: An Ancient Epic directly on their TV through cloud gaming.

Globally, the LG Gaming Portal offers more than 4,000 cloud-streamed games and 600 free single and multiplayer titles, making it one of the biggest gaming libraries available on smart TVs.

Brian Jung, Director at LG’s Media Entertainment Solution Company, said the goal is to make gaming more simple and accessible. “The Gaming Portal is designed to make gaming more accessible, convenient, and enjoyable for everyone—from hardcore gamers to casual players,” he said.

LG is also promising a smooth gaming experience. Many of its TVs support features like G-Sync, up to 165Hz VRR, 0.1ms response time, AMD FreeSync Premium, and high motion clarity, all of which help reduce lag and blur during fast-paced gameplay.

The Gaming Portal and Xbox App are rolling out to LG webOS Smart TV models from 2021 to 2025. Users will see it appear through a software update, depending on their city and model. Once available, it can be accessed right from the LG home screen. From there, users simply connect a controller, subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, and start playing.

With this move, LG is bringing console-level gaming to millions of Indian living rooms, without requiring a console.
