Minecraft gets Smurfs DLC

A Smurfs DLC has arrived for Minecraft. Developed by Paramount and Shapescape, the Smurfs DLC adds 16 new skins and several adventure-filled missions to the sandbox survival game. It is available for purchase on the Minecraft Marketplace for 1170 Minecoins.

Minecraft’s Smurfs DLC takes you to the Smurfs village. You’ll get to explore the village and make social connections with the Smurf population there. In the Smurf village, you’ll meet Papa Smurf, Smurfette and Hefty Smurf.

While strolling through the Smurfs' village, try to gather as many coins as you can. These will help pay for new cosmetic customisations for your Smurf character.

There are some serious responsibilities on your shoulders, too, as you’ll be trying to save your Smurf friends from evil  Gargamel. For this, you’ll need to complete three mini games in the Smurfs DLC.

“Gargamel is causing trouble, and it's up to you to save the day. Rescue captured Smurfs, outsmart Gargamel in a potion battle, test your stealth against Azrael, and dash through parkour challenges,” says a Minecraft website post.

Smurfs DLC mini-game 1: The potion battle with Gargamel
In the first mini-game, you will take on Gargamel in a one-on-one potion battle. Dodge Gargamel’s barrage of magical brews and use the mushrooms as shields. The mushrooms can be used as a counterattack measure, too, as they can fling the potions back at Gargamel. However, be careful as “not all potions have the same effect, as some might heal and some might cause damage.”

Smurfs DLC mini-game 2: Stealthy tactics against Azrael
“Gargamel’s cat, Azrael, has captured one of your friends. To free the imprisoned Smurf, you need to sneak like you’ve never snuck before! Can you untie the ropes used to suspend the prison cage above ground and do it without Azrael spotting you? Make sure to not step on the noisy branches scattered about!” says the blog post.

Smurfs DLC mini-game 3: Parkour and rescue
The third mini-game is a parkour-inspired one. Become an expert at double jump, overcome the obstacles in your way and blow up new passages to reach the end of the cave, as that is where your fellow Smurf would be there for you to rescue.
