Scheduled for release on March 4, 2025, Rockstar Games, via its new blog post, confirmed that the update will be free for existing GTA 5 PC owners. It introduces a host of new features, including enhanced graphics options, faster loading times, and kernel-level anti-cheat protection. Additionally, the upgrade will also add support for ray-traced shadows and reflections, which first arrived on current-generation consoles.
Moreover, the PC version of GTA 5 will also get support for popular upscaling technologies such as AMD’s FSR 3 and Nvidia’s DLSS 3. Players who upgrade to the new version will also be able to migrate their Story Mode and Online progress from the previous version.
