Google uses a playful Wicked style song to show how Pixel features came before the iPhone

Google’s latest BestPhonesForever ad turns the Pixel and iPhone rivalry into a fun musical inspired by Wicked. The iPhone sings about Pixel’s features like call screening, AI tools and photo fixes, making the ad playful, simple and entertaining for viewers.

Pixel vs iPhone

Google has released a new ad in its “BestPhonesForever” series, and this one is a bit unusual. Instead of the usual jokes between the Pixel and the iPhone, the two phones suddenly start singing. The ad is inspired by the new movie Wicked: For Good, which is now in theaters.

The video shows the iPhone happily praising the Pixel. It says the Pixel has always been the first to try new things, like removing unwanted objects from photos, screening spam calls and having an AI assistant that can talk naturally. The iPhone sings about how the Pixel inspires it and helps show it the way.

The ad is meant to be funny, but it does not actually explain any of the features. It doesn’t show how call screening works or why Google’s AI assistant is better. It is more about the two phones acting cute and singing together than giving real details.

Google has been making these Pixel versus iPhone ads since 2023, and they have become quite popular online. There are more than 30 ads in the series now. Most of them compare Pixel features with the iPhone or point out things the iPhone still can’t do.

This new ad follows the same idea but adds a musical twist. It is playful and light, and it tries to make people smile. Whether it will convince someone to buy a Pixel is hard to say, because it focuses more on entertainment than on information.

Still, it keeps the BestPhonesForever series going and gives fans another fun moment between the Pixel and the iPhone. And even if the singing phones don’t make you switch devices, the ad is likely to get people talking because it is so different from a typical smartphone commercial.
