ChatGPT’s Ghibli-style images took over social media since it arrived last week. While the world hasn’t stopped obsessing over the cute Ghibli versions of their photos, Alibaba’s Qwen takes things a step further by allowing users to create Ghibli-style anime videos using the platform.
Qwen’s 2.5 Max supports Ghibli-style videos
Alibaba recently rolled out Qwen 2.5 Max, which came with updated capabilities, and that includes the video generation capability as well. What this means is users can enter a text prompt and ask Qwen to create a video based on it.
Moneycontrol tried and it works: Take a look
Utilising the capability of Qwen, we tried creating a simple video in Ghibli style and asked it to create a video “showing a girl waiting at the bus stand in broad daylight and worried.”
Qwen 2.5 Max worked on it for a while, and ended up generating a nice Ghibli-style anime video.

Ghibli art anime videos in Qwen: Things to keep in mind
There are a few things that you should know about creating Ghibli images using Qwen.
It can do videos in different formats – 16:9 landscape, 9:16 portrait and even 1:1 square and even 3:4 and 4:3 aspect ratios.
It’s free and only requires a login
The video length is limited to 5 seconds.
There are limitations
We tried uploading some photos and asked it to convert them into a video. Qwen currently can’t do that. Also, it can generate videos only up to 5 seconds and not more than that.
It can’t do complex compositions as of now. Simple videos are fine with Qwen. However, if you go too complex with the commands, there’s a possibility you won’t get the results that you were expecting.
