Apple is expected to launch its next-generation iPhone later this year – in September – maybe. That said, leaks and rumours about the upcoming iPhone have already started surfacing on the internet revealing some important details about it. The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to get several changes and updates over the iPhone 16 Pro and we’ve highlighted the top 5 of them that we can expect to see.
Updated processor
This one is a bit obvious, however, the chipset update will be one of the biggest changes that the iPhone 17 Pro is likely to see over the iPhone 16 Pro. We expect that the phone will be powered by the A19 Pro chipset with improved AI processing (NPU), overall performance improvements and more.
Camera setup improvements
Although, we aren’t expecting to see any major change in the primary 48MP sensor, but speculations are that the phone will get a Tetraprism telephoto lens this year. Expectations are that the phone will also come with a 24MP sensor at the front instead of the 12MP unit.
Design
It is Apple and a major design change happens after several years. The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to be that design change phone here. According to leaked images, the phone might get a horizontal camera arrangement at the back similar to the PIxel 9 phones.
iOS 19 with more AI features
Apple introduced the iOS 18 with the iPhone 16 series and we are expecting that iOS 19 will debut with the next iPhone. That’s not it. The iOS 19 is also expected to come with new AI features and improvements to the AI integration within the operating system.
Battery and charging
iPhones are still stuck at 30W maximum charging speed. With iPhone 17 Pro we can see improvement to the charging seepds and even improved MagSafe support.
