Google held its annual Developer’s Conference I/O 2024 event on May 14, and the major focus of the event was Google’s AI Integration with many of its services and tools. Google also announced Android 15 at the same event and has now released the latest Android 15 Beta 2 update.
The Android 15 Developer Preview started in February with the Beta 1 update releasing in April. Google also released a hotfix update to fix some minor bugs. According to Google’s Android 15 timeline, the Android 15 Beta 2 update is another incremental beta release, with a stable OS update expected to be released after August, after two more beta updates.

Android 15 Beta 2 update: Features
There are also plenty of minor features introduced in the second Beta of Android 15, which include predictive feedback, new vibration effects for notifications, new data types for Health Connect, and more. With this update, Google has also introduced an AV1 software decoder from VideoLAN for devices that don’t have an AV1 encoder hardware.
This enables HD video playback even on entry-level and mid-tier smartphones. We get a new ‘Private space’ feature with this update, that lets you store banking apps and other data in a secured space. The Android 15 Beta 2 has improved user experience with smoother transitions and a more seamless UI with better multitasking and app closing and opening speeds.
Do note that this is still an early build of Android 15, and there might be several bugs associated with this update. Therefore, we don’t recommend you install this on your primary device.
