As escalating tensions in West Asia trigger widespread Middle East flight cancellations, India has announced visa relief measures for foreign nationals stranded in the country due to international flight disruptions.
On Sunday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a travel advisory clarifying that foreign nationals stranded in India because of airspace restrictions and cancelled flights can approach the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for assistance.
The move comes amid ongoing aviation uncertainty following security developments in the region that have impacted several international corridors linking India with West Asian hubs.

Middle East flight cancellations update: Why travellers are stranded
The India travel advisory follows massive aviation disruptions across West Asia after military developments in the region led to temporary airspace closures and safety-related flight suspensions.
Airlines operating between India and key transit hubs such as the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have either suspended services, rerouted aircraft, or cancelled flights at short notice due to restricted air corridors.
As a result, several inbound and outbound passengers are facing itinerary changes, delays, and missed onward connections. Industry sources indicate that a number of foreign tourists are currently unable to depart India as scheduled because connecting flights via Middle Eastern hubs were cancelled.
While the exact number of stranded travellers remains unclear, aviation officials describe the situation as fluid.
