Anthropic’s Claude has gone down again — its second outage in under 24 hours — affecting users across multiple regions and triggering thousands of complaints.
According to outage-tracking platform Downdetector, more than 4,000 users in the United States had reported issues as of 9:35 am local time. Around 40% flagged problems with Claude chat, 34% reported trouble with the app, and about 15% said the website was not functioning properly.
In India, nearly 300 users reported difficulties during the same period. Of these, 71% cited issues specifically with Claude chat, while 15% pointed to the app and 14% to the website.
The disruption follows a previous outage on March 2, when the chatbot was unavailable across several regions between approximately 5 pm and 8 pm. During that earlier episode, more than 1,000 users in India had flagged problems.
Claude’s status page acknowledged the fresh disruption, with Anthropic saying it is investigating the issue. The company has not yet shared details on the cause or provided a timeline for full restoration.
The back-to-back outages may raise fresh questions about service stability at a time when AI chatbots are increasingly being integrated into work tools, research workflows and customer-facing platforms.
