How to transfer your information to Claude

Once you have collected your data, move to Claude.

Open Claude and access Settings. Under Capabilities, ensure that the Memory feature is enabled. This allows Claude to retain context about you across conversations.

Start a new chat and paste a summary of your preferences. Instead of uploading raw chat logs, prompt Claude to analyse the content. For example, you can ask it to review your summary and update its memory accordingly.

If you exported files, avoid pasting large, unstructured logs directly. Instead, extract key points and provide them in a clear format. After submitting the information, verify that Claude has saved your preferences correctly by asking it to recall what it has stored.

How to delete your ChatGPT account

Canceling a subscription does not automatically erase stored data. If you want to close your ChatGPT account permanently, follow these steps:

Go to Settings, then Personalization, and open Memory. Delete stored memory entries manually. You can also type a command asking the system to remove all saved memory and personalisation data.

After clearing memory, navigate to your account management section and select the option to delete your account. Confirm the deletion to complete the process.

Switching AI assistants requires preparation, but with careful data export, structured transfer, and proper account closure, the move can be completed without losing important information.
