4-player co-op action game “Godbreakers” announced for PS5 and PC

Independent game development studio “To The Sky” and Sweden-based publisher Thunderful Games have announced Godbreakers, a 4-player co-op action hack’n’slash game for PS5 and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store). Godbreakers is the first title from To The Sky studio. It will be compatible with the Steam Deck and is set to arrive in 2025.

Godbreakers: The backstory

In Godbreaker’s lore, mankind has been nearly obliterated by the AI it created to “improve the world”. The AI is now devouring planets, and the Sun is next on its list. As the final weapon on the Coven, you are now mankind’s last chance.

Godbreakers: Gameplay and combat

Godbreakers allows co-op gameplay for up to four players in “fast-paced, chaotic battles” against enemies and powerful game bosses. You can “cancel moves mid-action for precise control in real time”. As a team, you can “chain together strikes, dashes, and abilities,” which will also unlock new weapons.

Godbreakers will make you fight on six “surreal biomes, each filled with unique enemies, deadly hazards, and challenges.”
Although you can play alone, the developers recommend playing Godbreakers with friends as “the real adrenaline rush happens in cooperative play.”

In Godbreakers, you can absorb the powers of the enemies while fighting. “Charge your energy, take their power, then unleash a Godbreak: a devastating attack that uses the enemy’s own strength against them,” says Thunderful Games.

Build your character, unlock Archetypes, play demo

Players have the flexibility to tinker around with the character builds to create their ideal combatant. They can unlock Archetypes that will have their own weapons and traits.

In case you want to get a little taste of the action, Thunderful Games has made available a free demo for the hack’n’slash game on Steam.
