IPL Auction 2026 Date and Time: The IPL 2026 auction is all set to take place in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday afternoon. 359 players have been shortlisted to go under the hammer with a total of 77 available slots to fill, which include 31 for overseas players.
Going by the initial trend, Cameroon Green is anticipated to be the most sought, with an intense bidding war expected to rope in the Australian. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who have the biggest purse available (Rs 64.30 crore), have the advantage but there's a catch too. The franchise also need to fill in the most vacancies among all ten franchises, with 13 slots to fill.
Among the 359 shortlisted, 40 players have listed themselves at the maximum base price of Rs 2 crore, with Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi the only Indians in that list. KKR had splurged Rs 23.75 crore for Iyer at the last auction but it turned out to be an absolute waste. The all-rounder failed to live up to the hefty price tag and was even dropped from the playing XI midway during the tournament.
