RJD Leader Tejashwi Yadav says that Virat Kohli played under his captaincy.

Indian politician Tejashwi Yadav, the son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, recently stirred up quite a reaction on social media by sharing details of his cricketing journey.

The RJD leader asserted that he had captained Indian cricket star Virat Kohli in domestic cricket, a fact that seems to have been largely forgotten despite Tejashwi Yadav's notable career at the domestic level.

He also noted that many current Indian cricket team players were his contemporaries during his playing days. Throughout his career, Tejashwi played one First-Class match, two List A matches, and four T20 matches, representing Jharkhand in the domestic circuit. His First-Class debut was against Vidarbha in November 2009, while his List A appearances were against Tripura and Orissa in February 2010. All four of his T20 matches were held in Dhanbad, where he faced Orissa, Assam, Bengal, and Tripura.

In an interview with Zee Media, Tejashwi expressed his frustration at the lack of recognition for his cricketing achievements, stating, "I was a cricketer and no one talks about it. Virat Kohli played in my captaincy. Did anyone ever talk about it? Why don't they do so? As a professional, I played a good cricket. Many Team India players are my batchmates."

He also revealed that he had to retire from the sport due to fractures in both his ligaments. "I had to quit as my both ligaments were fractured. Let it be," Yadav remarked.

Tejashwi's comments have gone viral on social media, drawing a variety of responses from cricket fans.

Additionally, Tejashwi was part of the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) from the 2008 season to the 2012 season, although he did not appear in any matches during that time.
