The transition phase has started for Team India in the shortest format of cricket.
Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian T20I cricket squad arrived in Pallekele via Colombo from Mumbai on Monday.
On Tuesday, the Indian cricketers embarked on their initial practice session of the Sri Lanka series, under the supervision of Gautam Gambhir, who has succeeded Rahul Dravid as head coach.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a video on their X (formerly Twitter) handle, showcasing Gambhir's leadership during the training sessions.

Team India is scheduled to compete in 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs against Sri Lanka, with the series starting on July 27 and concluding on August 7.
The national selectors have appointed Shubman Gill as vice-captain for both T20Is and ODIs, relieving Hardik Pandya of his vice-captaincy duties in both formats.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, despite recently retiring from T20I cricket, have been persuaded by selectors to join the squad for the three ODIs.
Ravindra Jadeja, who announced his retirement from T20Is after the T20 World Cup, has not been included in the ODI squad. Gambhir clarified in his press conference on Monday that Jadeja has been rested for the tour.
Riyan Parag has been included in both squads, while Shreyas Iyer, who lost his central contract earlier this year due to absence from domestic cricket, has been reinstated into the squad.
