Hardik Pandya, who last played a 50-over match for India on October 19, 2023, against Bangladesh in Pune, is set to be included in India’s squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. The 31-year-old all-rounder from Baroda was also part of India’s squad in the 2017 Champions Trophy, where he top-scored in the final against Pakistan. Despite his efforts, India, led by Virat Kohli, suffered a 180-run defeat in that match.
Before the Champions Trophy, Hardik will feature in the upcoming T20I series against England. The five-match series begins on January 22 in Kolkata, with the subsequent matches scheduled in Chennai, Rajkot, Pune, and Mumbai on January 25, 28, 31, and February 2, respectively.

Hardik’s most recent appearance for India came in November 2024 during a four-match T20I series against South Africa, which India won 3-1. Following the series, Hardik represented Baroda in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 and Vijay Hazare Trophy tournaments, where he delivered impressive performances with both bat and ball.
Hardik’s form will be crucial for India’s campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy, which is slated to take place from February 19 to March 9, 2025. The tournament will be held across three venues in Pakistan and one in Dubai. India is scheduled to play all its matches in Dubai, including the final, should they qualify. The championship decider will be held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
