During the second Test match against England, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja violated a crucial rule in the recently updated BCCI guidelines. Jadeja had traveled alone to the Edgbaston Stadium, which is strictly prohibited.
Following India's tour of Australia, the BCCI published a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) requiring all squad members to travel together on the team bus for all practice sessions and matches. According to the new SOP, traveling alone is strictly forbidden in order to preserve team discipline.

Jadeja broke BCCI regulations by traveling alone to the Edgbaston Stadium, according to a report published by ESPNcricinfo on Thursday. Jadeja arrived at the stadium ahead of the rest of the team to get in some additional batting practice before the game. However, the report also stated that he is unlikely to be sanctioned, especially since he scored an important 89 runs in the game's first innings.
"Somewhere I felt that I should go and bat extra because the ball was still new. I felt if I could see the new ball off, it would become easier for the rest of the innings. Luckily, I could bat till lunch, and then Washington [Sundar] also batted well with Shubman. The more you bat in England, the better it is because you never feel you are set here. At any time, a ball can swing, take your edge, or bowl you," Jadeja said in the press conference after the end of Day Two's play.

In the first innings of the second Test match, Jadeja and Shubman Gill led the Indian team to an enormous total of 587 runs.
Following the unsuccessful Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024–2025, the BCCI implemented a 10-point code for the Indian squad. One of the main modifications is that during tours, players are no longer allowed to bring personal employees such as personal security guards, stylists, hairdressers, or cooks.
