IND vs WI: Ravindra Jadeja has truly evolved as a Test batter and has become a vital part of India’s red-ball setup. In the ongoing match against the West Indies, he scored another century proving his worth as a dependable batter in the longest format.

Jadeja came to the crease in after KL Rahul was dismissed after scoring a century on home-soil after 9 years. He went after the bowlers playing counter-attacking shots to get runs on board quickly. En-route his his ton, he surpassed MS Dhoni's record of 78 sixes in Test cricket for India. He did that when he had reached the 48-run mark.

It took Jadeja 7,111 balls to hit his 79th six of his Test career, while Dhoni had taken 8,104 balls to smash 76 sixes.

On top, Rishabh Pant and Virender Sehwag are their with 90 sixes each at the moment.

Coming to the contest and first innings, India reached 448 for 5 at Day 2 stumps after centuries from KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel and Ravindra Jadeja.

Jadeja (104) and Washington Sundar (9) closed the day's play. The duo of Jadeja and Jurel added 206 runs for the fifth wicket to put India in the driver's seat of the match. This was the 24-year-old Jurel's maiden Test hundred. Earlier, KL Rahul (100) got out after scoring a fine century.

India began their day on 121/2 but lost the wicket of skipper Shubman Gill (50) early during the opening session, while Rahul was dismissed right after the lunch break. The hosts had dismissed West Indies for 162 on day one.
