RCB vs LSG IPL 2024 Head to Head with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul

Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy stadium will host the match Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday. RCB is hoping to collect two points against the visitors, but they are likely to face a stiff challenge from the Lucknow side.

The Toss

Having lost 2 of their three matches, RCB has another concern – this is their third straight home game and after this, they hit the road again. RCB would like to win one more match in the comfort of their home. RCB has won 2 out of three tosses so far – they won the toss against CSK, decided to bat, and lost the match. In the second game, they again won the toss, decided to bowl, and won against Punjab. In their 3rd match, RCB lost the toss, were put into bat first and they lost the match against KKR. These three matches show an early trend – RCB lost 2 matches when they batted first, and their only win came while chasing. RCB's bowling attack has been off colour and so they may like to field first if they win the toss. This holds true of the Chinnaswamy ground too where 54 percent matches have been won batting second. Of the 90 matches played so far, 37 have been won batting first, 49 batting second, and 4 matches have had no result.

On the other hand, LSG’s one win in two matches came when they won the toss and batted first. But in Bengaluru, they may also prefer to chase in case they win the toss.

Let’s see if the Chinnaswamy ground holds the trend for RCB vs LSG clash as well.

The Pitch Report

The M Chinnaswamy stadium is considered good for batting – the average runs per wicket here is 28 while the average score batting first is 166. Close to nine runs are scored here every over (8.73). RCB skipper Faf du Plessis averages close to 50 here while Virat Kohli also is in good form and averages 41 at the venue. LSG’s new skipper Nicholas Pooran also likes batting here and has scored 108 in 2 innings at this ground. Mohd Siraj has taken 21 wickets here and RCB hopes he adds a few more here on Tuesday.
