India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Day 1, Kanpur weather today: The India vs Bangladesh second encounter at Green Park stadium in Kanpur might witness a disappointing start. The weather forecast in particular appears disappointing with rain accompanied with thunderstorm predicted for Friday. Although the weather cannot be accurately predicted but Sanjay Kapoor, the manager of Green Park Stadium, has assured of good drainage facilities. He also informed two super-soppers are available and will be put in use immediately if necessary.

While it was hot and humid on Thursday, the city experienced rainfall towards the evening. The showers should test the drainage system of the venue, which last hosted an international match in October 2021.

What is the weather forecast for Day 1?

If we talk about data, thunderstorms are expected on the first two days of the Kanpur Test. As per AccuWeather, thunderstorms may disrupt proceedings from 10 am to 11:30 am IST on Friday. This adds up a significant chunk of play in the opening session, with the match scheduled to start from 9:30 am IST. The weather is then expected to improve and depending on the outfield we can expect action in the afternoon. However, forecast suggests another returning spell of thunderstorms post 3 pm IST, thus putting the action of final session in jeopardy.

What has happened so far in the series?

India currently have a 1-0 lead in the two-match series having defeated the tourists comprehensively in Chennai. India won the clash by 280 runs riding on splendid show by multiple players after Bangladesh dictated the show for two sessions on Day 1. However, Ravichandran Ashwin in particular was the standout player from the Indian camp.

The carrom-ball specialist completed his ton, which was his sixth in total in the Test format. Together with Ravindra Jadeja, the pair added 199 runs for the seventh wicket, thus rescuing India from a precarious 144/6.

He then produced an emphatic show with the ball and ran through the Bangladesh line-up in the second innings. He returned with figures reading 6/88.
