Former cricketer and actor Yograj Singh, who has stated in multiple interviews that he has no regrets in life and that he only shed tears at his mother's passing, has had a change of heart. In addition to expressing his regret to everyone he had ever offended, he did it while crying.
Yograj pleaded for forgiveness of Yuvraj and his first wife, who both left when Yuvraj was 17 and hadn't yet made his India debut, while acknowledging in an interview that he had made numerous mistakes in his life. In previous interviews, Yograj claimed that throughout the years he was preparing Yuvraj to become a cricketing legend, he placed severe limitations on his first wife.

In an interview with the Fivewood Podcast, Yograj stated that his survival was a miracle after a near-death experience he had a few months prior. He claimed that he hurried to the hospital after experiencing a sudden, intense pain in his stomach. He was informed there that he would need surgery and that his chances of survival were low after a few tests were completed.
The encounter altered him, and after repeatedly claiming that he had no regrets in life and that he would torture Yuvraj in the same way if he had the chance to raise him again, Yograj acknowledged that he had acted badly in the past. He claimed that at this point, all he could hope for was to receive "moksha" from this world.

Asked if he has regrets, he said, “Too many. Everything I did was because it had come down to my self-respect and my family. I have deleted most of those memories, because that’s what Guru told me to do. But I beg forgiveness with folded hands. I request anybody that I’ve harmed, be it an outsider or someone from my own family, to forgive me. I ask forgiveness of my children, my wife, Yuvi’s mother, and everybody else. It was all my fault. If I’ve ever spoken ill about any friend, any competitor, be it in cricket or films, I am sorry. I have no qualities; I only have flaws. I have not done a single decent thing in life.”
He claimed that he couldn't possibly imagine making the same mistakes twice in his life. “I sleep soundly. I don’t need any pills. When I die, I want Guru to be proud of me,” he said, adding that he calls his ex-wife and his current wife ‘Mata’, and that he sees ‘Gurus’ in his sons.
Yograj claimed in a recent interview on the Highbrow Studios YouTube channel that he doesn't miss any of his family members and that he is effectively separated from them all. He even claimed to have no sons or daughters and to have resorted to religion. “I have never missed them, but I am grateful that I was able to give them a good upbringing,” he said.
In another interview with SMTV, Yograj stated that his family and kids don't get along with him because they worry that he would subject his grandson Orion to the same struggles as he did Yuvraj. “The day Yuvi hands his children over to me, they will meet the same fate as he did. You can only forge gold through fire. There will be no mercy, because there is only one path… That’s what they fear, and that’s why we aren’t together,” he said.
Yuvraj acknowledged on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast that he doesn't want to make the same mistakes his father did and that he fears his father would make Orion play cricket against his will.
