Why are the people who gave us joy going away? Having just said good bye to Piyush Pandey, comes the news of the passing of Satish Shah who was brilliant in Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi and Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and so many many more.— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) October 25, 2025
Sarabhai vs Sarabhai producer JD Majethia shared deeply emotional memories of his final interactions with the late actor. In an interview with PTI, he revealed, “I couldn't believe it because he had a chat with Aatish Kapadia at 11:00 am. He had a chat with Ratna ji at 12:57. And after two hours, we got to know he is no more.”
Majethia also recalled how he was supposed to meet Shah just two days before his death. “I was right below his house, but he said he was too tired to meet. I told him, my family also wanted to meet you. Bohot pyaar karte the betiyon se, very close to my wife. He said, ‘look how I'm sounding, I'm so healthy.’ He told me, ‘Aav ne pachi madiye,’ that ‘pachi’ will never come now.”
He also revealed that the actor kept the Sarabhai vs Sarabhai WhatsApp group active till the end.
Satish Shah’s funeral took place today at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Mumbai’s Vile Parle.
