Veteran actor Satish Shah’s sudden death at the age of 74 has left the entertainment industry and his countless admirers heartbroken. Best remembered for his iconic role as Indravadan Sarabhai in the cult sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Satish Shah passed away on October 25 in Mumbai.

In an interview with PTI, the show's producer and Satish's close friend JD Majethia revealed that the actor had spoken to his Sarabhai vs Sarabhai co-stars and friends just hours before his demise. “I couldn’t believe it because he had a chat with Aatish Kapadia at 11:00 am. He had a chat with Ratna ji at 12:57. And after two hours, we got to know he is no more,” JD Majethia said.

The producer shared that he was supposed to meet Satish Shah just two days prior. “Parso (day before yesterday), we were supposed to meet. I was right below his house, but he said he was too tired to meet. I told him, my family also wanted to meet you. Bohot pyaar karte the betiyon se (He loved my daughters), very close to my wife. He said, ‘Look how I’m sounding, I’m so healthy.’ He told me, ‘Aav ne pachi madiye,’ that ‘pachi’ will never come now,” Majethia recalled.

He further mentioned that Satish Shah was the life of their Sarabhai vs Sarabhai WhatsApp group. “He was the one who always kept it active,” Majethia said, reflecting on how the actor maintained strong bonds with his castmates even two decades after the show ended.
