During the West Indies' innings on Days 3 and 4 of the second and final Test match of the ongoing home series, India batter Sai Sudharsan did not take the field. The batter had a hand injury on Day 2 while fielding at forward short leg. As a precaution, he stayed in the dugout to nurse the injury, as advised by the BCCI medical team.
Sudharsan was seen observing the action from the sidelines on Day 4, when the West Indies mounted a comeback to set a 121-run target after India had imposed a follow-on. The left-handed hitter was then asked by a fan at the Arun Jaitely Stadium in New Delhi to leave the Gujarat Titans in advance of the 19th season's Indian Premier League (IPL) auction and sign with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Sudharsan, who is from Chennai, is a domestic cricketer for Tamil Nadu.
"Gujarat se nikal jao, CSK me jarurat hai" (leave Gujarat Titans, we need you at CSK) was uttered by a fan as Sudharsan was seen having a snack just outside the boundary line in the social media footage that went viral.

Since joining the Titans in 2022, Sai Sudharsan has become a key pillar in their batting lineup. Over 40 matches across three seasons, he has piled up 1,793 runs, including two centuries and 12 fifties. His standout performance came in the 2025 season, when he clinched the Orange Cap with 759 runs in 15 games.
A Cricbuzz report had previously said that the player auction will take place in mid-December, however teams have not yet finalized their retention list for the next auction.
