Jasprit Bumrah, who is usually known to maintain a calm demenaour, was forced to resort to aggression as things spiced up in the closing stages of Day 1 of the Sydney Test. Bumrah, who is the stand-in skipper, was seen furious at 19-year-old Sam Konstas, who is playing his second Test. The duo have been back at each other since the previous encounter at Melbourne, when the Aussie went on a rampage mode against India's premier pacer. The bowler, however, had humbled Konstas in the second essay of the Melbourne Test, which India lost by 184 runs, but it seems that there is still some venom left in this unexpected rivalry.

The tensions on the field sparked in the final over of play with Konstas being at the non-striker's end and Bumrah getting ready to get into his run-up. Usman Khawaja, who has had troubles against Bumrah in this series, was consuming time to get into his stance, following which the umpire signaled the pacer to wait. Bumrah obliged to the umpire's decision but seemed a bit perplexed at the unnecessary delay, which led Konstas to react. Konstas then charged towards Bumrah and the Indian didn't stop either, forcing umpire to calm things between the players.

However, the drama didn't finish there as Bumrah bowled a length delivery outside the off-stump line, which was left alone by Khawaja. The next delivery, which was also the final ball of the day, saw Bumrah mix both his line and length and this time it was much full and on the middle and off-stump line, which forced Khawaja to play.

However, in doing so the left-handed Australian opener got a leading edge and the ball went straight into the hands of KL Rahul at the slip cordon, who made no mistake. While Bumrah momentarily burst into celebration but he quickly shifted his focus towards Konstas at the non-striker's end and charged at him to celebrate at his face.

Soon all the Indian players, including Virat Kohli, who was fined 20 percent of his match fees after a physical altercation with Konstas in Melbourne, also came close towards the non-striker's end and celebrated wildly.

The moment was an instant hit on social media, with many fans depicting it as "absolute cinema". Bumrah's final ball injection saw Australia finish Day 1 at 9-1, trailing by 176 runs. Meanwhile, it was another off-day for the Indian batters as they were bundled for 185, after winning the toss and opting to bat.
