The Asia Cup 2025 begins from September 9 and will run till September 28 in the UAE. The matches will be played in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. A total of eight nations, divided in two groups, will take part in the continental showdown.
Group A: Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong
Group B: India, UAE, Oman, Pakistan
India are the official hosts of Asia Cup 2025 but due to strained relations with neighbours Pakistan, the tournament is being played at a neutral venue, which in this case is the UAE. Even if India had hosted the matches in the country, the clashes against Pakistan would have taken place at a neutral venue, which is as per a mutual agreement between the boards of two nations taken right before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Then India played all their matches in Dubai instead of travelling to Pakistan, who were the original hosts of the marquee ICC event.
