Is a big-screen debut for MS Dhoni imminent? Social media has gone crazy as Bollywood actor R Madhavan published a preview in which Dhoni plays an officer opposite him. The brief video showed Madhavan and Dhoni dressed like task force members, complete with tactical gear, Kevlar vests, and sunglasses. The preview sent fans into a frenzy over the action-packed project that will be revealed "soon" because the two also wielded guns.
Madhavan posted the teaser on Instagram. He did not, however, specify if the project was a web series, a film, or something else entirely.
"One mission. Two fighters. Buckle up - a wild, explosive chase begins. The Chase - teaser out now. Directed by Vasan Bala. Coming soon," he wrote while sharing the video.
"Dhoni as hero. Thala for a reason," wrote a fan. "This better be a movie because the trailer is so thrilling," wrote another fan. Some also believed that it was a shoot for an advertisement.
Notably, MS Dhoni is a Lieutenant Colonel (Honorary) in the Indian Territorial Army's Parachute Regiment. In 2011, the Indian Army bestowed the honor onto him.
With regard to Dhoni's game, having already announced his retirement from international cricket, the veteran wicketkeeper-batter is only seen in action during the IPL, with Chennai Super Kings’ last game against Gujarat Titans in the previous edition being his final appearance.

The franchise signed him as an uncapped player for Rs 4 crore last year.
Dhoni, who ended his international career as the only captain to win all three major white-ball ICC championships, has guided CSK to a record-tying five IPL titles. India won the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 Cricket World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy under his leadership.
