The Maharashtra government has officially announced the dates for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar, with the religious fair set to commence on October 31, 2025, and continue for a record 18 months — the longest Kumbh celebration in the region’s history.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, following a crucial meeting with 13 Akharas and prominent seers, declared the schedule and shared details of the extensive arrangements underway. The decision aims to facilitate a grand and uninterrupted spiritual experience for devotees across the globe.

The Simhastha Kumbh Mela, one of Hinduism’s largest religious gatherings, will open with Dhwajarohan (flag hoisting) on October 31, 2025, and conclude on July 24, 2028. This marks the first-ever 18-month duration for the Kumbh in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar, allowing more pilgrims to take part in the sacred rituals and holy snans (baths) over a prolonged period.

From Acharya Varanam to Amrit Snans, the rituals will strictly adhere to sanatan dharma practices.
