Ganesh Visarjan Rituals
The Ganesh Visarjan ritual involves a series of pujas and ceremonies. On the day of immersion, devotees gather around the idol, offering prayers and seeking forgiveness for any mistakes made during the festival. The idol is decorated with flowers, garlands, and ornaments before offering Ganesha his favourite sweets, such as modaks.

After this, the idol is carried in a procession to the waterbody, accompanied by chants, and music. At the immersion site, a final puja is performed, where coconuts, fruits, and flowers are offered. As the idol is submerged in the water, devotees chant "Ganapati Bappa Morya" and "Jai Ganesh", bidding farewell to the Lord.

Once the idol dissolves, the holy water is collected and sprinkled over the devotees, symbolising purification. The ritual concludes with the devotees reflecting on the blessings received during the festival and the hope of welcoming Ganesha again in the coming year.

Significance of Ganesh Visarjan
Ganesh Visarjan holds deep spiritual significance in Hindu culture. It marks the end of the Ganesh festival and symbolises the impermanence of life. The immersion of the idol signifies Lord Ganesha's return to his divine abode, reminding devotees of the continuous cycle of life, death, and rebirth. The dissolution of the idol in water is believed to return Ganesha’s divine energy to the universe, renewing the environment and cleansing the soul.
