Former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has sharply criticised the Democratic Party, asserting that it selects candidates who can be easily controlled, citing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as prime examples. His comments came in response to Kamala Harris' first major interview on CNN, where she appeared with her running mate, Tim Walz.
Ramaswamy expressed his views on X, saying, "Kamala’s interview last night was a reminder that we’re not running against a candidate. We’re running against a system. They require a candidate they can control, which means having original ideas is a disqualification. That’s exactly why we get Biden, then Kamala, and so on." Notably, Elon Musk, who has openly endorsed Donald Trump, supported Ramaswamy's perspective.

In her much-anticipated interview, Harris addressed various issues, including her evolving stances on fracking and border security, claiming that while her positions have adapted since 2019, her core values remain consistent. She also mentioned her openness to including a Republican in her Cabinet, emphasising the importance of diversity of opinion in governance.
However, she refrained from commenting on Donald Trump's recent remarks questioning her racial identity, dismissing it as part of the "same old tired playbook." Harris also recounted the moment Joe Biden informed her of his decision to withdraw from the presidential race and endorse her candidacy.
The interview sparked criticism from conservative commentators. DailyWire reporter Ryan Saavedra described Harris as "incompetent," pointing out her perceived discomfort and struggles during the interview. Social media users also critiqued her body language, noting a lack of confidence and suggesting it conveyed weakness.

Former President Donald Trump, while refraining from detailed criticism, dismissed the interview as "boring," offering no further remarks.
Ramaswamy's comments and the subsequent reactions underscore the polarised nature of the current political landscape as the election approaches.
