In a recent Fox interview, former President Donald Trump criticised Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her “nasty” and claiming she treated Mike Pence “horribly” during their 2020 debate. Trump’s remarks about Harris were met with sharp rebuke from both Democrats and Republicans opposed to him, who highlighted his own controversial actions.

Trump accused Harris of mistreating Pence, referencing a moment from the 2020 vice presidential debate where Harris said, “Mr Vice President, I'm speaking. I'm speaking,” after Pence interrupted her. He also claimed that Harris’s treatment of Justice Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearing was historically poor.

In response, critics on social media were quick to remind Trump of his own actions. They pointed out that Trump had previously supported the violent January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, during which his supporters chanted “hang Mike Pence.” "You sent a mob to kill him," one user remarked, referring to Trump’s support for the riot. Others condemned Trump’s comments as hypocritical and forgetful, with one account noting, "In a stunning senile moment, Donald Trump just suggested it was Kamala Harris who treated Mike Pence poorly. Donald Trump clearly cannot remember anything."

Further criticisms included comments like, “Donald Trump is so fucking fried that he thinks we all forgot he tried to have Mike Pence murdered,” and, “Wait, what? I don’t think there’s a human being on earth who treated Mike Pence worse than the guy speaking here.”

Amid these exchanges, Mike Pence, who has distanced himself from Trump, stated he would not endorse Trump in the upcoming election. Pence reaffirmed his commitment to the Constitution, saying, “Anyone who puts themselves over the Constitution should never be the president of the United States. And anyone who asks someone else to put themselves over the Constitution should never be the president of the United States again.”
