Sugar prices at spot market rose during the week following strong demand in the domestic market. Reports of Sugar deficit in the current marketing year also provided support to prices. India’s sugar production fell by 5.35% as the country produced 104.80 lakh tons of sugar in 2016/17 marketing year as compared to 110.72 lakh tons produced in 2015/16 marketing year.By: Skymetweather.com
