A post taking a light-hearted dig at Vistara has left many social media users amused. X user Ritesh Banglani shared a picture of a pamphlet he found on his Vistara flight announcing that the airline was ranked 20th best in in-flight entertainment in the world. “I may fall upon hard times, but I hope things are never so bad that I have to brag about being 20th best in anything,” he wrote on X as he shared a picture of the pamphlet.
His tongue-in-cheek post has received thousands of views and amused comments. While some agreed with his take, others pointed out that Vistara’s achievement is praiseworthy given the amount of competition the full-service airline faced at the 2023 Skytrax World Airline Awards.

In 2023, Vistara became the only Indian airline to rank among the global top 20 for in-flight entertainment. Cathay Pacific won in that category, ahead of Emirates in second and Qatar Airways in third place.
“This award recognises those airlines that seek to deliver a fantastic experience to their passengers,” explained the 2023 Skytrax World Airline Awards website, adding that factors like availability and functionality of onboard Wi-Fi as well as choice and movies and TV shows were taken into account while choosing the winners.
Vistara is one of the few Indian airlines that offers in-flight entertainment even in domestic flights – its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner planes come with a 12-inch personal entertainment screen, while the Airbus A321neo planes also come with a 10-inch in-flight screen.
