A recent video shared by a student at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Deoghar, Jharkhand, has drawn attention to the institute's hostel facilities and the affordability of medical education in India. The clip, which has gone viral on social media, provide a detailed look into the living conditions and resources available to students pursuing their medical studies at one of the country's premier institutions.
In the video, titled "Room Tour of AIIMS", a student outlined the low cost of pursuing an MBBS degree at AIIMS Deoghar. The student highlighted that the tuition fees amount to just Rs 5,586, and accommodation in a furnished hostel room costs only Rs 15 per month.
The room, designed for single occupancy, included basic amenities such as a bed, study table, chair, and cupboard. The student also mentioned that 24-hour electricity is provided at a nominal fee of Rs 4 per month. From the balcony of the room, the video captures a view of the campus, showcasing the surrounding landscape.

The clip sparked significant discussion on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), with users praising the government’s investment in healthcare education. One user commented on the calibre of AIIMS students, referring to them as top achievers in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Another user expressed excitement about the facilities at AIIMS Deoghar, calling it a significant development for healthcare in Jharkhand.

The student sarcastically warned prospective applicants about the burdens of being congratulated for securing a place at AIIMS and highlighted the Rs 1.7 crore that the government reportedly spends on each medical student.
