OnePlus is launching the next generation flagship killer on May 14 in a global event to be held in Bangalore along with three other international cities. The company has a reputation for launching flagship category products at almost half the premium compared to its competitors. While you might be waiting to have your hands on the higher-end OnePlus 7 Pro, the device may just burn a hole in your pocket.

OnePlus is launching two new smartphones this year namely, the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro.

A user on Weibo asked Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus if the Pro version can be bought for Yuan 5,000. Lau responded to the question and stated that it would just be enough. If converted, that is roughly Rs 52,000, which would put the OnePlus 7 Pro in the premium category smartphones.

Lau has confirmed that the company has worked on making the OnePlus 7 Pro’s display super smooth and very crisp.  The CEO has not revealed any specifications, but reports suggest that the OnePlus 7 Pro have a huge 6.64-inch QHD+ curved screen with no notch.

Several rumours about a 90Hz display have already surfaced, and Lau also used three Os in ‘smooth’ instead of two: Considering 90Hz is 3/2 of 60Hz, the typical smartphone refresh rate.

Powering the OnePlus 7 Pro would be a Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 6GB/ 8GB/ 12GB RAM and 128GB/ 256GB storage options. In terms of camera, the Pro would have three cameras at the back comprising of 48MP + 16MP + 8MP lenses.

The front camera would have a pop-up mechanism. The OnePlus 7 Pro would come packed with a 4,000 mAh battery and support WARP charge at 30W. It would have USB 3.1 and dual speakers at the bottom. Lau has confirmed that there would be a 5G-ready version of the OnePlus 7 Pro.

While the confirmed pricing would be announced on May 14 at the event, tipster Ishan Agarwal has stated that the 8GB + 256GB variant would cost € 749/759 (roughly Rs 59,000) whereas the 12GB + 256GB variant would be priced at €819/829 (approximately Rs 64,700). Agarwal clarified that the pricing would vary for international markets.
