Mark Zuckerberg's whirlwind tour of Japan is making headlines, not just for his tech endeavours but also for his culinary adventures. The Meta CEO, currently on an Asian expedition with his family, took a detour to a McDonald's in Japan, declaring the experience worthy of a Michelin star. In an Instagram post that has sparked varied reactions, Zuckerberg showcased his meal, a feast featuring fries, McNuggets, and multiple burgers.
Donned in Meta's smart sunglasses and a sheepskin jacket, Zuckerberg wrote sharing pictures on Instagram: “Japanese McDonald's: 10/10. Give these guys a Michelin star.”
Among the reactions to his post, singer Katy Perry chimed in with a simple "Agreed." Meanwhile, Instagram users sought recommendations for the best items on the menu. Zuckerberg, engaging with his followers, provided a detailed list, endorsing the Ebi burger, Double burger with egg, Teriyaki McChicken, local McNuggets, and Churros for dessert.
Zuckerberg reportedly had meetings with Facebook developers in Japan, focusing on projects like the large language model Llama and the Quest virtual-reality headsets.
His Asia itinerary also extends to South Korea, where he is set to meet partners and possibly President Yoon Suk Yeol. Following his visit to Seoul, Zuckerberg is slated to attend pre-wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant celebrations in India.
During his Japan stay, Zuckerberg participated in a lesson with Akihira Kokaji, a Japanese sword master, learning the art of sword-making. Instagram posts showcase Zuckerberg actively involved in constructing a sword and later wielding it.
