An IndiGo passenger has become the latest internet sensation after ingeniously repurposing the airline's headrest cover as an eye mask during a mid-flight nap. The photo, which quickly went viral on social media platform X, depicts the traveller sporting the airline's headrest cover as an improvised eye mask, complete with a pair of spectacles perched atop to prevent slippage.

Shared by X user “Backpacking Daku”, the photo garnered widespread attention, with many users marvelling at the passenger's ingenuity. "IndiGo now provides free eye masks for all their economy seat passengers," quipped Backpacking Daku alongside the photo in a caption.

While some social media users pondered the hygiene implications of utilizing the thin headcover as an eye mask, others applauded the passenger's "jugaad" spirit, a term often used in India to describe innovative makeshift solutions.

The man in the picture remains unidentified and the X user does not mention where the flight was headed.

Many joked about the budget airline charging passengers for using the cover.

One user joked it is chargeable hourly to which the original poster quipped: “You get to carry the eyewear post landing.”

“Indigo will charge 100 Rs if someone wants to use the back rest cover as eye shield,” another user joked.
