Galaxy M40 to launch soon in India with 5,000 mAh battery, Android 9.0

The Galaxy M40 would be the first Galaxy M device to run on Android Pie out-of-the-box.

Samsung is rumoured to launch a new smartphone under the Galaxy M series in India. The next device under the lineup would be called Galaxy M40 and would be the fourth device after the M10, M20, M30 to be launched in India.

Samsung Galaxy M40 was first spotted on the WiFi Alliance website. The listing did not provide many details about the Galaxy M40. The only specifications revealed are that the Galaxy M40, with the codename SM-M405F/DS would run on Android 9.0. The Galaxy M40 would be the first Galaxy M device to run on Android Pie out-of-the-box.

Now, Indian tipster Ishan Agarwal has confirmed that the M40 would be making its way to the Indian market. In a tweet, Agarwal said, “Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy M40 (SM-M405F) soon. It will definitely be launched in India”. He added that the phone would launch in three colour options which would include Black, Blue, and Coral. The tipster further claims that Galaxy M40 would have a 128GB variant.


There are several rumours that the Galaxy M40 would pack a 5,000 mAh battery and support 15W fast charging. An Exynos 7904 SoC or Exynos 9610 SoC found on the Galaxy M30 and A50.
