Pakistani actor Mahira Khan has booked a spot on the trends list on X (formerly Twitter) after a video of her intimate wedding ceremony surfaced. The actor known for her roles in “Humsafar”, “Bin Roye” and “Raees”, among others, tied the knot with long-time boyfriend and businessman Salim Karim. The outdoor ceremony took place on October 1 at Pearl Continental Hotel in Bhurban, Pakistan as per a report by Samaa TV.

Videos and photos of the wedding have gone viral online. The clip was first shared by the actor’s manager, Anushay Talha Khan and Pakistani photographer Izzah Shaheen Malik. In the footage, Khan can be seen walking down the aisle towards Karim in a heavily-embroidered pastel lehenga and a long veil.

Karim was seen wiping tears. He complemented her well in a black sherwani that he paired with a bright blue turban.

The footage made its way all over X and fans from all over showered their love on Khan and Karim.

Who is Salim Karim?

As per Samaa TV, Karim is a multifaceted entrepreneur, who has made his mark in the business world as the CEO of Simpaisa. The company lets people pay directly through their SIM cards, the report said. The company reportedly facilitates merchants from different sectors in over 15 countries.

As per Pakistan-based news agency Dispatch News Desk, Khan got engaged to Karim in 2019 in an intimate ceremony in Turkey. Apart from being the CEO of Karachi-based Simpaisa, he was a professional CEO as well.

This is Khan’s second marriage. She was earlier married to Ali Askari and they parted ways in 2015. They have a 13-year-old son, Azlan.

In 2020, as a guest on Samina Peerzada’s web show, Rewind with Samina Peerzada, Khan talked about Karim and revealed that she was in love. “Yeah, I think I am in love,” she said. When Peerzada congratulated her, she said, “I don’t know, I am so shy about it.”
